HENDERSON IS HOME
For 30 years, Carrie Cox has called Henderson home. She and her husband, Matthew, raised their seven children here. Today, several of their children and grandchildren, along with their sons- and daughters-in-law, live in the same neighborhoods Carrie has spent her life serving.
Carrie spent 32 years as an educator, including her work as a kindergarten teacher and reading interventionist at Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon. She has also worked as a family law paralegal, advocating for children and families in court. The classroom shaped how she leads: listen first, prepare thoroughly, and never lose sight of the people you're there to serve.
That same approach has guided her work on the council. She's known throughout Henderson as someone who hears every side, leads with transparency, looks for win-win outcomes, and shows up for the residents, businesses, and first responders who keep this city running.
WHY SHE SERVES
Carrie is the daughter of a Navy veteran and the wife of an Air Force veteran. Service is part of her family legacy. Her commitment to Henderson is rooted in the belief that the city's quality of life isn't a given. It's protected, every day, by the choices the council makes and the leaders who refuse to take Henderson's progress for granted.
Carrie was elected to the Henderson City Council to represent Ward III, and she took office in November 2022 with a clear set of priorities: public safety, crime prevention, a Henderson School District, sustainable economic recovery, and greater transparency in city government.
WHERE SHE SERVES
Beyond the council chamber, Carrie's commitment to Henderson and Southern Nevada shows up in the work she's done on a range of boards and committees.
